Krank’d 9 in one word: perseverance. This year the annual Krank’d competition returned to the Lehigh Valley. With moving gym locations I wasn’t sure we would be able to host the competition in Allentown, PA as we had in years past, but we persevered and got the job done. Just the same a Mary Jacobson has persevered through lift and made her return to strongman with a bang! I have known Mary for 10+ years, but had not seen Mary for about three years before today. Turns out she has had some serious health battle. 2 heart attacks and 2 knee replacements just to name a few! But nothing could keep her from her true love: strongman!
In addition to Mary’s great return, Amanda Kerdzaliev won the women’s division. David Lashaw and Paul Laudenslager battled out in the Master’s division all day. Mike Aniska had a come from behind victory to win the middleweight men’s division. And Brian Hertzog won the heavyweight division. Hertzog also set the PA state record for barbell deadlift with 655lbs. Tom Masters set the heavyweight PA state record for axle press, with a lift of 320lbs. Jon Sadlowski also set a PA state record in the max axle press with an impressive 300lb lift!
I’d like to thank all the athletes and helpers for a great contest! Without you all great contests like these couldn’t be possible. Next contest is next weekend in Rehoboth Beach, DE for DE Strongest 9! Till then, train hard,
