Online Qualifier for nationals
Update
As everyone knows, the unprecedented health pandemic has put a major pause on strongman competitions this year. Many shows have been cancelled or postponed, and many athletes that intended to qualify for Nationals 2020 have not had an opportunity to qualify. With that in mind, we’re going to provide athletes that opportunity with Strongman Corporations first ever Online Qualifier for Nationals 2020.
Along with our state reps we have come up with the events and weights below:
Event Chart
Nationals 2020 On-line Qualification Events and Standards. Please register prior to sending videos or completing events. Athletes must be current Strongman Corporation Members prior to registration
***Competitors must successfully meet 3 of the 4 standards to earn their invite to Nationals***
Log Clean and Press
Minimum Weight Lifted

Log must be between 10” and 13” in diameter.

Log must be picked up from the ground, or off pads, so the log starts below knee level.

Knees, hips and elbows must be locked out. You must hold at lockout long enough to confirm the lift is stable.

Log can not rest on your head.
Equipment Allowed: Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Belts, Gloves, Chalk, Grip Shirts
Equipment Not Allowed: Elbow Wraps, Tacky, Spray Tack, Tack Towel Straps
Plates need to be shown on camera either before or after the lift to verify weight. If the log is a common brand - Rogue, MBPowerCenter, Titan, Pitbull, or Bigg Dogg, the log does not need to be weighed. If the state chair reviewing can confirm the weight, it does not need to be weighed. Otherwise, weigh the log on camera.
The video must include:

The plate from one side of the log to verify weight.

Either a close up of the log to show the brand, OR the log weighed on camera.
Conventional Deadlift

Deadlift bar can be any standard 45lb or 20kg power bar or deadlift bar.

For the sake of the competition, we will consider 20kg bars as 45lbs.

Deadlift is from standard height, with any combination of standard metal plates, calibrated plates, or bumper plates, as long as they’re no greater than 18” in diameter.

Knees and hips must be locked out and held at the top.
Equipment Allowed: Sleeves, Wraps, Straps, Belts, Gloves, Briefs, Baby Powder, Chalk
Equipment Not Allowed: Deadlift Suits, Tacky, Spray Tack, Tack Towel
The video must include:

Farmer's Walk
Minimum Weight Carried per Hand

Athlete must have a 40’ lane marked.

The front of the farmer’s starts lined up at the start line. The competitor must then carry the farmer’s to the finish line, without drops.

The front of the farmer’s implement must cross the line in the air.

Any farmer’s implement can be used.
Equipment Allowed: Sleeves, Wraps, Belts, Chalk, Briefs, Grip Shirts
Equipment Not Allowed: Gloves, Straps, Tacky, Spray Tack, Tack Towel
Please Note:
Plates need to be shown on camera either before or after the lift to verify weight. They only need to be shown from the front or back of one implement. If the farmer’s is a common brand - Rogue, MBPowerCenter, Titan, or Bigg Dogg, they do not need to be weighed. If the state chair reviewing is familiar with the implements and can confirm the weight, they do not need to be weighed. Otherwise, weigh the implement on camera. Please confirm the distance on camera as well.
The video must include:

The carry completed without drops. Make sure it shows the front of the farmer’s going over the finish line without a slide.

The plate from one end of the farmer’s to confirm weight.

Either a close up of the farmer’s to show the brand, OR the farmer’s weighed on camera.

Yoke Carry
Minimum Weight Carried

The front of the yoke starts lined up on the start line. The competitor must then carry the yoke to the finish line, without drops.

The front of the yoke must cross the line in the air.

Equipment Not Allowed: Tacky, Spray Tack, Tack Towel

Is this for Master’s Nationals as well?
Due to the pandemic, Master’s Nationals is open for all Strongman Corp Master’s athletes. There is no qualification needed.
Who can Qualify?
All current strongman corporation athletes will be allowed to qualify for and compete at nationals.
Athletes under the age of 18 must have parental permission and signature (NO EXCEPTIONS)
How do I Qualify? Online and In Person
Competitors can choose to qualify via video online, with verification of weights and equipment, or in person with your Strongman Corporation State rep (provided stay-at-home orders have been lifted).
What is the Timeline?
Online Qualifiers will run from now through the end August (provided stay-at-home orders have been lifted).
What is the Entry Fee?
$20
Equipment
Equipment such as Rogue, MB Powercenter, and Bigg Dogg yokes wouldn’t need to be weighed.
Custom Equipment will need to be weighed. Weights will be verified by State Chairmen.
Athletes are not required to weigh weigh-in for the qualification.
There will not be an online qualification process for the Arnold. Arnold invites for Americans will still be the Platinum Plus's, Nationals, and last year's Arnold.
